  • Abstract
In the module 'Reading instructions', the teacher compares the reading abilities of the students of the own class to those of the Swiss students of similar age.
After having localized and explained the differences, the teacher performs training modules with the students and compares the performance again.

1 The module 'Reading instructions' (Draw)
One station on the way thru the CBT program is a reading test.
The two learners have to pass a test for screening the reading abilities.

The teacher works on the same tasks too - for a better understanding of the students' results.

In the software project, the tasks of this module will be different from the test unit 'Draw': the learners do not draw, they choose between several elements displayed and drag them to the right place on the screen.
(If the teacher prefers to let the students work on paper instead on screen, the tasks of this module can be printed out.)

But they do type entries consisting of alphanumeric texts.

    up - Abstract - 1 Module - 2 Goal - 3 Requirements - 4 Scenario -

    2 Goal of this module
Recognize, understand and explain individual differences in reading abilities: How do learners read instructions?

    Study the reading behaviour of
    - the two learners in the program,
    - the screened students,
    - of the students in the own class.

Explain the different answers of the students.

    up - Abstract - 1 Module - 2 Goal - 3 Requirements - 4 Scenario -

    3 Requirements for this module
The persons working on this module have to able to

    - read and understand the assignments,
    - do basic arithmetics,
    - use mouse and keyboard or the tools for drawing (on paper).

    up - Abstract - 1 Module - 2 Goal - 3 Requirements - 4 Scenario -

    4 Scenario of this module
4.1 Inner circle: the teacher and the program
11 Own experience The teacher works on the same tasks of this module as the students have done (in the program) or are going to do (in the class).
