<commentary>Incidental learning or learning 'en passant' is seen by some authors as the most important yet
considerably neglected form of learning. In my quasi-experimental study I analysed the effect of interactivity (maximum
versus minimum interactivity) and of group setting (pairs versus individual learners) on learning of explicit content and
implicit details from a series of nine animations on the topics of Diffusion and Osmosis.</commentary>

            <collabos></collabos>
<commentary>The project 'Intranet Kantonsschule Stadelhofen' arose from a seminar on e-learning platforms. Initially,
the aim was to conceptualize a structure for a e-learning platform which could be used in the context of blended learning
at a secondary school (Kantonsschule). Since at this time our school was looking for an extranet platform I further developed
concepts to integrate the e-learning platform as to administration, technique and layout into a larger environment.
The project 'Intranet Kantonsschule Stadelhofen' wich arose from these works led to an extranet primarily based on open source
software and comprising several modules: e-learning platform (moodle), booking system (mrbs), mail/webmail (squirrelmail),
administrative informations (Information manager - based on php-mySQL) - all held together by LDAP-authentification.
The project was generously funded by the Kanton Zurich.

its use in a blended learning context. It also can be used for presentation during presential lessons.

<commentary>While the main framework of this learning unit was programmed in Authorware, most of the integrated animations
were done in Flash. The pedagogical approach of the material can be described as 'instructional design' with a cognistivistic point
             of view.

            <collabos></collabos>
<commentary>Educational material on cell division was conceptualised with a user centered approach. Interviews with users (students)
led to the creation of a metaphor for the site and of several 'personas' - typical users. Based on this information
the content of the site was structured and arranged. This architecture was evaluated with further interviews of users and then
adapted according to the results. The site was not programmed.

In this work a set of icons were created
for use in the exploratory site on Cell division (see further up). Usability and semiotic efficiency were tested
by the aid of the Iconometer.
