The giants and giantesses were among the first living beings according to the creation of the world in Norse mythology. The first giant was called Ymir, and it is from his corpse that the nine realms were created
You can zoom into elements by using alt+left clickThe giant cow Audhumbla licked a block of ice from which Buri emerged, the first of the Gods. Buri was a giant and his son was Borr who would have three sons, Odin, Vili, and Ve.
Odin and his brothers decided to kill Ymir, the blood spouted out with a furious force in every direction from Ymir's body, and most of the giants drowned in the huge flood of blood.
The world was created from the remains of the giant Ymir in Norse mythology. The three brothers dragged Ymir's body towards Ginnungagap, where they created the world from the remains of Ymir. Here is a poem from this event ↓
The blood became the oceans, rivers, and lakes.
The flesh became the land
The bones became the mountains
The teeth were made into rocks
The hair became the grass and trees
The eyelashes became Midgard
Yggdrasil is an eternal green ash tree in Norse mythology with branches that stretch out over all of the nine realms. Each realm hangs on its own branch, but if the tree should shake or fall, so will all the realms.
↓↓
Niflheim: The Realm of Fog and Mist
Muspelheim: The Land of Fire
Asgard: Home of the Gods
Midgard: Home of the Humans
Jotunheim: Home of the Giants
Vanaheim: Home of the Vanir
Alfheim: Home of the Light Elves
Svartalfheim: Home of the Dwarves
Helheim : Home of the dishonorable dead
Drag the items below into their respective container. Each container has an image that matches with one of the worlds. We just gave you a little clue about every realm. Once the item is placed in its container, it will turn green. Good luck!
The dwarves are skilled craftsmen. The two dwarves Brokkr and Eitriare the ones who crafted Odin's ring Draupnir, Thor's hammer Mjölnir, and Freyr's ship Skidbladnir.
Loki is not evil, nor is he good, and he lived in Asgard even though he is from Jotunheim (the land of the giants). Go down ↓ if you want to know more about Loki
Loki also has three horrible children together with the jötunn, Angrboda:
Jörmungandr, a huge serpent that lives in the ocean
Fenrir, the big and terrifying wolf.
Hel, who became the queen of the underworld
It is here that the mighty Midgard serpent will be emerging from the sea, while it splashes its tail and sprays poison in all directions, causing huge waves crashing towards the land.
The Fenrir wolf will break free of his chains and spread death and destruction.
The sun and the moon will be swallowed by the wolves Skoll and Hati, and even the world tree Yggdrasil will shake the ground.
