Computer-Supported Argumentative Writer

Please go to for up-to-date information.

This project has evolved by leaps and bounds since the last update of this page and the links below may no longer work.

C-SAW was developed by Kalliopi Benetos as part of a design-based research project done to fulfill the requirements for a MSc in Educational Technology with TECFA at the University of Geneva (as well as for the sheer pleasure of perhaps making something useful). The accompanying Masters thesis is available for download as a PDF file.

C-SAW a "Computer-Supported" Argumentative Writer is an internet-based sofware tool that allows novices of argumentative writing to organize their ideas, build arguments, reflect upon and evaluate them and 'visualize' their essays as they compose. One can receive help while writing, view the essay, save it for future editing and print it.

You may view a sample of an essay written with C-SAW or try C-SAW. I am open to constructive criticism or comments. All feedback is welcome as this project is currently being further developed for a doctoral thesis research project. A new test demo will hopefully be ready in early May 2012.
